Your Energy Results Are In:

You are currently in a Resistance Phase

In the resistance stage, your body has moved past the initial alarm reaction to stress, but it's still working hard to cope with ongoing stressors.

  • You might notice anxious tendencies, although fatigue and depression are more common.
  • It may feel hard to be in touch with your emotions and you may even find yourself feeling apathetic in many situations.
  • Fatigue is something you are struggling with and it may feel like it takes a few hours to feel fully awake in the morning.
  • To get through the day, you find yourself relying on stimulants, like caffeine and sugar.
  • Physiologically, your blood sugar and blood pressure trend low.
  • You are frequently cold, do not sweat easily, and have dry hair and skin.
  • You struggle with brain fog and spacey thinking.
  • Simple tasks in daily life can begin to feel quite overwhelming in this stage of stress.
  • You struggle with constipation and bloat.

Constipation & Bloat

During this phase, the body's stress response systems, remain activated to help manage the stress load. However, prolonged activation of these systems can lead to dysregulation and imbalances in various physiological processes, including those related to cognitive function.
Low energy sets in during the resistance stage of stress due to the cumulative effects of sustained physiological, psychological, and behavioral responses to ongoing stressors. This fatigue creates a dependence on stimulants such as caffeine and sugar.
Dry hair and skin in this stage of stress can result from a combination of hormonal imbalances, decreased skin barrier function, metabolic issues, and inflammation. As stress continues, it drastically impacts the metabolism, and similar symptoms develop.
Chronic stress can impact the functioning of the GI tract, including changes in gut motility. Stress activates the sympathetic nervous system and inhibits the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows down movement of food through the digestive system.
